It was National Ice Cream Day and my friend and I decided to take a stroll through the unbearable heat on a Sunday through the Malibu Farmer's Market. This summer in Los Angeles has been horrendous. The humidity has made Los Angeles into a sauna analogous to summers in London or NYC. I needed something cold and satisfying STAT. To be honest, I really just needed to celebrate National Ice Cream Day!
Grom Gelateria is situated in the Malibu Country Mart amongst all the lovely restaurants and apparel stores. The gelato shop is quite small with no seating other than al fresco. The number of flavors is extensive.

All the gelato is premade in Turin, Italy where it is then distributed to their retail stores for whipping. The gelato is natural, with no artificial ingredients; just high-quality fresh milk, cage-free eggs and 50% fresh fruit for their sorbets. Grom obtains their fruit from their organic farm Mura Mura in Piedmont, Italy. With the use of quality elements, the result is a fresh-tasting, smooth and creamy concoction.

Overall, Grom Gelateria offers delicious, creamy gelato straight from Italy. The quality can be tasted upon each bite and I appreciate the different flavors of the month. Sorbets are magnificent here if you prefer that over creamy gelato (I had a sampling). I wish they had a place to dine indoors, but being that it is located in Malibu, you can't really go wrong sitting al fresco. There are multiple locations throughout and they recently opened up a Grom in Hollywood.
Notable dishes: Crema di Grom and Fiordilatte and Cherries
